Moogly's Crochet Dishcloth

This week's pattern inspiration comes from Tamara Kelly over at Moogly.

Her Basketweave Scrubby Cloth works up quick using front- and back-post double crochets. Thats what gives it so much texture and scrubbing power! I decided to make this one large enough to clean my kitchen counters.

Here's my take on Moogly's pattern…

Scrub-a-dub Dishcloth

Using US size G hook, ch 29.

Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across — 26 dc (incl. initial ch 3).

Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1st dc here and throughout), {fpdc in next 6 dc, bpdc in next 6 dc} twice, dc in last; turn — 26 dc.

Row 3: Ch 3, {bpdc in next 6 dc, fpdc in next 6 dc} twice, dc in last st; turn — 26 dc.

Repeat rows 2 & 3 until square.

Finish off and weave in ends.

Abbreviations

  • ch – chain
  • dc – double crochet
  • incl – including
  • fpdc – front post double crochet
