I love this classic zigzag stitch. It goes along with the chevron trend, but without being obvious. Let's add the ZigZag Knit Dishcloth to the mix of patterns you already have in your kitchen arsenal.

Zigzag Knit Dishcloth

With US size 7 needles, co 30.

Row 1: K1 {k5, yo, k2tog} across to last st, k1

Row 2: Purl all sts, including increases

Row 3: K1 {k4, yo, k2tog, k1} across to last st, k1

Row 4: Purl all sts, including increases

Row 5: K1 {k3, yo, k2tog, k2} across to last st, k1

Row 6: Purl all sts, including increases

Row 7: K1 {k2, yo, k2tog, k3} across to last st, k1

Row 8: Purl all sts, including increases

Row 9: K1 {k1, yo, k2tog, k4} across to last st, k1

Row 10: Purl all sts, including increases

Row 11: K1 {k2, yo, k2tog, k3} across to last st, k1

Row 12: Purl all sts, including increases

Row 13: K1 {k3, yo, k2tog, k2} across to last st, k1

Row 14: Purl all sts, including increases

Row 15: K1 {k4, yo, k2tog, k1} across to last st, k1

Row 16: Purl all sts, including increases

Rows 17-32: Repeat rows 1-16

Rows 33-42: Repeat rows 1-10

Bind off.

Optional: Add a crochet edge by single crocheting in each st around. Bind off and weave in ends.

  • k – knit
  • yo – yarn over (increase)
  • k2tog – knit 2 together (decrease)
  • st – stitch
